The only way to truly learn a language is to immerse oneself in the culture. Students in Conversational Spanish did just that this weekend as they invested a Sunday in visiting a Spanish church, Spanish restaurant and a home for widows in Miami. At Casa Sobre la Roca, in Miami Lakes, students participated in worship and listened to an energetic sermon on Matthew 7 and the decision we must make to stay on God's path (the narrow path).
Students also enjoyed almuerzo at Versailles and they planted a garden, sang praise songs in Spanish and encouraged the elderly widows at Casa San Jose (nursing home) by loving on them and keeping them company. We celebrated, one of the lady's 103rd birthday!!! May God use this experience to remind students that God created a myriad of people on earth and learning a second, third, or fourth language...expands our ability to love others and minister the gospel! Jesus came for ALL!
Sincerely,
Senora Peyton
