The Official CCA Bad Joke of the Day

A man sits down at a table at Starbucks to wait for a friend.  Suddenly he hears someone say, "Now that's a nice shirt."  The man looks around but he can't tell who said it.  A little later he hears someone say, "You've really got great hair."  The man looks around again, but can't tell who said it.  Finally, he hears, "You're pretty handsome."  This time the man is shocked because he realizes that the words came from a bowl of sugar and Splenda packets sitting on the table.  He can't believe it and he asks one of the servers, "Hey, what's up with these sweetener packets?" The server says, "Oh, those are complimentary."

GAME RESULTS REPORT   Results from the Cross Country Meet at Westminster Academy on October 27, 2009

Competing schools: Westminster Academy (host), Highland, Arch Bishop McCarthy, Heat, Lakeworth Christian
Record 4-3
First Race
Girls JV

1.    Noel Picinich  7th Place   26:37
2.    Amanda Herring   24th Place   36:33
Second Race
JV Boys

1.    Juan Fajardo 19th Place   26:44
2.    Santiago Fajardo  25th Place   29:28
Third Race
3200 Postal (2 mile track run)

1.    Caroline Pauls 15:20

Important moments:  Coming into the race the runners were tired and not excited to run.  When we got to the race the varsity girls were given the opportunity to run in the 2 mile run instead of the 5K. As a result the older girls were able to watch the younger runners compete and cheer them on.  The team talked about schools they liked to run with and many of the comments were based on teams that cheered for everyone during the competitions, like Posnak.  During the races all the runners made it a point to cheer for all the school competing not just Calvary.  Both coaches are very proud of the team for their hard work and dedication in a sport that doesn't receive much glory or recognition, but it does build discipline in all areas of life.  My prayer would be that the students maintain that dedication to discipline in their studies and time with God even after the season ends.  Go Eagles! :-)

Note: The District competition is next week on Tuesday, November 3 starting at 3PM at Westminster's West Campus.

Students, if you have played a Fall sport and your season is finished, please wash and fold your uniform, and bring it in this week. Please bring it directly to your coach, as they will be collecting the uniforms.

The Official CCA Bad Joke of the Day

A dog went to a telegram office, took out a blank form and wrote, "Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof."

The clerk examined the paper and politely told the dog: "There are only nine words here. You could send another 'Woof' for the same price."

"But," the dog replied, "that would make no sense at all."
