On this day in history, two national parks were established in the United States 10 years apart-the Grand Canyon in 1919 and the Grand Tetons in 1929.

1732 - The only Roman Catholic Church built and maintained in the American colonies before the American Revolutionary War celebrated its first mass. (In other American colonies, such as Maryland, Catholics were forced to practice their rituals in private homes.)

High School News:

Students, it is very important that you do not leave your book bags unattended during the school day. We also suggest that you keep expensive valuables at home and bring minimal money to school. Monthly, we receive reports of theft on campus. As we pray for those in our flock to do the right thing (and deal with our open campus element), we also need for the flock to guard after their own belongings. Vigilance on everyone's part will minimize these occurrences.
