ATHLETICS NEWS:  Go CCA Eagles!

4/30/10

VARSITY BASEBALL

Coral Springs Christian

10-9   loss

The varsity baseball team came up short in the district final 10-9. Emilio Desilva was 3 for 3 and scored 3 runs. The God story happened Sunday as the team served @ the refuge - (Church for the homeless). All were blessed who took part serving the less fortunate meals, passing out donated clothes, and praying for their specific needs. The eagles take on American Heritage Delray Tues. night 7pm in regional play.

4/30/10

VARSITY SOFTBALL Regional Semi Final Game

CCA vs. American Heritage Delray

CCA loss  2-3

Sophomore Katie Gottfried pitched another solid game against American Heritage Delray keeping CCA close, giving up three hits and recording six strike outs. We gave American Heritage all they could handle, but came up short.

No Athletic Events Today

Cheerleading practice will begin TOMORROW after school on the west fields for Middle school and JV teams only. Please change after school and come out to the fields by 3:15.

Spring Football starts TOMORROW after school. You need to register online, and you also must have a current physical on file. You can get a physical after school TODAY at the school clinic.

On This Day in History

On this day in 1469, the Italian philosopher and writer Niccolo Machiavelli is born. A lifelong patriot and diehard proponent of a unified Italy, Machiavelli became one of the fathers of modern political theory.

1675. A Massachusetts law was enacted requiring that church doors be locked during the worship service-too many people were leaving before the long sermon was completed.

The Word of God for the Day

Psalm 25:8-9   Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way.

The Official CCA Bad Joke of the Day

Saul: Why did you put your watch in the bank?

Paul: I need to save time.

*****************************

Sam: My grandmother lived to be 95 and never used glasses.

Pam: Wow, she must have had exceptional eyesight.

Sam: Not at all. From the time she was thirty she was walking into doors.
