High School News:

The CCA Yearbooks are in! At 2:50 this afternoon you will be dismissed to go to your Homeroom to pick up your copy.

 

Students, faculty and staff.... let's remember that May 28th, is Graduation day for our 2010 Seniors. Don't miss the opportunity to celebrate with them as we honor them in the Sanctuary at 7PM. No reservations are necessary and the entire church and school community are invited.

 

FINE ARTS:       

 

Please join us for the High School Spring Collage Concert, highlighting high school students from many areas of the Fine Arts.  There will be a variety of performances from the High School Chorus, Dance company, Thespian Troupe 6817, and the High School Band.  This wonderful evening of entertainment and worship is Friday, May 14 at 7:00pm in the CCA Theatre!  Admission is free.  Hope to see you there!

The Chorus and Band Spring Concert will take place on Monday, May 17 in the Calvary Chapel Theater at 7:00.  We will be presenting songs from the past such as Rockin' Robin and Build Me Up Buttercup with changed lyrics that glorify God and present the gospel message of Jesus Christ. Admission to the concert is free so come join us for a night of great music and worship to our God!

Attention all track students: you need to bring your uniform in this week. Coach Cantrell will be collecting the uniforms Thursday and Friday after school at the front lobby by the front office. If you do not turn the uniform in this week you will be charged for the cost to replace it.

On this day in 1869, the presidents of the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroads meet in Promontory, Utah, and drove a ceremonial last spike into a rail line that connects their railroads. This made transcontinental railroad travel possible for the first time in U.S. history. No longer would western-bound travelers need to take the long and dangerous journey by wagon train, and the West would surely lose some of its wild charm with the new connection to the civilized East.
