High School News:
For lunch, please note that students are to be in the Commons, the Hub, the picnic tables or somewhere between Discipleship Building and the elementary building or on the walkway to the Hub. Be sure to only use these authorized student lunch areas. Of course, Juniors and Seniors may also be in the Grill. Be sure to not enter the Discipleship Building after lunch until 12:55. Thank you.
Juniors and Seniors, please show great maturity as you enjoy the adult dining environment in the Grill. Thanks to all who have represented CCA well in the Grill; and for those who need to show greater maturity and respect while there, please do so. Please understand that tables need to be limited to 5 or 6 students and the Grill asks that you not switch tables during lunch. Also, please remember that servers in restaurants depend upon tips to make their wage to be a worthwhile wage, so tip your servers well.
Students, your schedule lays out the track of where you are to be at any given point of the day. If you ever have a need to be somewhere other than what your schedule says, be sure to get a pass from the teacher you are to be with at that time and then be sure to go directly to where the pass says without taking any detours or making any other stops on the way.
Secondary Picture Day is Monday Oct. 26. Please be in proper uniform and have payments ready to give to the photographer. Please check with your homeroom teacher for your scheduled time.

On This Day in History
October 19, 1512: Martin Luther receives his Doctor of Theology degree from the University of Wittenberg (see issue 34: Luther's Early Years).
October 19, 1720: Quaker minister John Woolman is born in Roncocas, New Jersey. He was known for his concerns to live a simple life exemplifying "the right use of things," and to end war, slavery, and injustice toward the poor and to Native Americans. His journal, written from 1756-72, influenced nineteenth-century abolitionists and demonstrated his concern for both the oppressors and the oppressed.
The Word for the Day
1. Pathologically incoherent, repetitious speech.
2. Incessant or compulsive talkativeness; wearisome volubility.
By his own measure, he is a man of many contradictions, beginning with the fact that he is famous as a listener but suffers from "a touch of logorrhea." He is so voluble that one wonders how his subjects get a word in edgewise.
The Official CCA Bad Joke of the Day
A turtle was walking down an alley in New York when he was mugged by a gang of snails. A police detective came to investigate and asked the turtle if he could explain what happened.
The turtle looked at the detective with a confused look on his face and replied "I don't know, it all happened so fast."
The Word of God for the Day
1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!
