High School News:

There will be a meeting for students interested in going to DC next fall in Mrs. Perrin's room (33021) at lunch TODAY. If you are interested, but can't make the meeting let Mrs. Perrin know by e-mail or just stop by her room this week.

Attention all sophomores and freshmen:  Registration and payment for participation on your class' retreat next week must be made by 6:00 p.m. TONIGHT. Again, the registration page for the 9th and 10th grade retreats will close at 6:00 p.m. this evening!

Also, all students who are participating must turn in a permission slip in order to be permitted to leave the Calvary property. They can be picked up in the administration offices on the first floor or downloaded off the website.

Good job to those of you who have already turned in your Golf Tournament money! There is still more than a week to go and as of today, eighth grade is in the lead to wear jeans every Friday in May, and seventh grade is not too far behind! Elementary has brought in over $5,000 so come on secondary, let's pull out all the stops for the next 10 days and support our school!

On This Day in History

1452 - Birth of Leonardo da Vinci, Italian Renaissance artist. A profound thinker and scholar,
da Vinci was one of the greatest minds of his day, being classed with Dante, Beethoven, and Shakespeare as one of the four greatest intellects in the world of art and literature. The church remembers him as the artist who painted The Last Supper, on which he labored three years.

At 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912, the British ocean liner Titanic sinks into the North Atlantic Ocean about 400 miles south of Newfoundland, Canada. The massive ship, which carried 2,200 passengers and crew, had struck an iceberg two and half hours before.

The Word of God for the Day

Romans 8:38-39   For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
