 On This Day in History

November 15, 1917-
Death of Oswald Chambers, Scottish Bible teacher and evangelical mystic. The son of a Scottish Baptist pastor, Chambers was converted after hearing C.H. Spurgeon preach. He was a man of mystic faith and intense prayer, who taught that the Christian life was to be a victorious one. His most important book is his classic devotional My Utmost For His Highest, still in print and available in several languages.

The Word of God for the Day

Romans 8:5-6   Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.

The Official CCA Bad Joke of the Day

Two silk worms had a race. They ended up in a tie.
