High School News:

Students looking for community service hours: A local ranch "God's Little Acres" is in need of help working with the horses and helping entertain special needs children on the weekends. If you are interested please come to the Guidance office and let Mrs. Vargas know.

Journey, CCA's first literary magazine, is calling for entries. So if you want to show the world your art skills, enter Journey's Writing, Art, and Photography competition by TOMORROW. The winners will be published in this beautiful, full color, glossy publication which will be published in the Spring of 2011. Originality plays a major role in all art competitions so make sure that you only send out your best work. For details, go to the CCA website's home page and click on the Journey icon.

Club News:

The Drama Club and Chemistry Club will meet TOMORROW

Athletics News:

The Varsity Girls Basketball team beat Parkway Academy 47-39 to improve to 2-2 on the season.  It was a great team effort and huge win against last year's 2A state semi-finalists.  We were able to pray at half court with them after the game and encourage them with God's great plan for their lives

The varsity boys basketball team lost to Berean Christian 40-38.  The eagles were led by Shawn Lashbrook who scored 10 points.

To all Varsity and Junior Varsity Football Players: If you haven't turned in your equipment and uniforms by Friday to Coach Byerts, you will be charged for what you haven't turned in.

 On This Day in History

November 30, 1954:
The first modern instance of a meteorite striking a human being occurs at Sylacauga, Alabama, when a meteorite crashes through the roof of a house and into a living room, bounces off a radio, and strikes a woman on the hip. The victim, Mrs. Elizabeth Hodges, was sleeping on a couch at the time of impact. The space rock was a sulfide meteorite weighing 8.5 pounds and measuring seven inches in length. Mrs. Hodges was not permanently injured but suffered a nasty bruise along her hip and leg.

The Word of God for the Day

Galatians 5:16   So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

The Official CCA Bad Joke of the Day

In a democracy it's your vote that counts.  In feudalism it's your count that votes.
