ATHLETICS NEWS:  Go CCA Eagles!

It was great night for the Eagle Football team as they came away with a thrilling 28-27 win against Pope John Paul II.  The game started and ended with celebration as Javan Shashaty connected with Greg Mabin on the second play of the game to become the Broward County career passing leader by passing North Broward Prep's Dexter Davidson, who had 5,983 yards.  Javan ended the night going 15 of 29 passing for 227 yards and 3 TD's, giving him 6,200 yards on his high school career and counting.  The game wasn't decided until Sophomore Dovi Gamble blocked the game-tying extra point with 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter to secure the win for the Eagles. The Eagles were led offensively by Freshman Spencer Saliba (with 20 carries for 130 yards and a TD) and Junior Shawn Lashbrook (with 6 catches for 100yards and 2 TD's).  Defensively, the Eagles were led by Senior Daniel Hendershaw (with 5 tackles, 4 assists, and 1caused fumble) and Freshmen Clarke Niles (with 7 tackles, 2 for loss, and 1assist).  The Eagles have a week off before playing at home for homecoming to take on The Benjamin School.

On This Day in History

The Word of God for the Day

Psalm 73:23-26
Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

The Official CCA Bad Joke of the Day

Why is your nose in the middle of your face?
Because it's the scenter.
