On This Day in History
March 8, 1948 - Religious education within the public schools was declared a violation of the First Amendment by the U.S. Supreme Court. In particular, the court ruled that the practice of "release time"-a scheduling arrangement whereby public school children could, with parental consent, receive religious instruction during school hours, and in school buildings-with a violation of the separation of church and state.
The Word of God for the Day
Luke 6:28 Bless those who curse you and pray for those who mistreat you.
