On this day in 1890 - Billy Sunday, famed left fielder for the Chicago White Sox, gave up his successful career in baseball following his conversion to Christ. He soon became one of the most popular evangelists of his day. It is estimated that over 300,000 souls were converted through his evangelistic ministry before his death in 1935.
