High School News:

ATHLETICS NEWS:  Go CCA Eagles!

 

The Varsity Volleyball team lost against Pine Crest on Saturday, 1 game to 3. Top players were: Christine Lakatos with 12 kills, 5 service points & 2 aces, Bethany Taylor had 10 kills & 9 service points and Jennie Wilkie had 32 assists, 3 kill and 3 digs. Both teams prayed together after the match.

 

It was another great night on Friday as our Eagle Football team beat cross-town rival Westminster Academy by the score of 35-0.  The Eagles were led by junior QB Javan Shashaty, who threw for 328 yards on 15 of 25 passing and 4 TD's.  Greg Mabin led us in receiving with 6 catches for 187 yards and 4 TD's.  Spencer Saliba led us in rushing with 56 yards on 9 carries, and he also had a two point conversion.  Defensively, the Eagles were led by Senior Daniel Hendershaw with 4 tackles, 2 assists, and 1 interception.  Sophomore Stephen Barnett had 2 interceptions with one being returned for a TD.

September 27-
1910. Birth of Mother Theresa, missionary nun, of Albanian parents in Yugoslavia. In 1928 she entered the covenant. After being sent to India she soon became deeply involved in working among the poor in Calcutta's slums. She formed a religious order, the Missionary Sisters of Charity in 1948. She received the John XXIII Peace  Prize for her work in Calcutta, where she and other sisters tend the sick and destitute, work among lepers and give shelter to those incurables whom no one else would help.
