High School News:
Students, our soccer team is in the regional playoffs TOMORROW and our girls' basketball team is in the district playoffs. To support our teams, students and staff are encouraged to wear any CCA athletic shirt TOMORROW. Student's you'll still need to have uniform bottoms, but feel free to wear any CCA athletic shirt TOMORROW and be sure to head out to the home soccer regional playoff game at 3:30.
Science Bowl "planning our work" meeting will be held in room 34031 TOMORROW during lunch. The science bowl is on the 19th, so every minute counts. We plan to show a video of a brain bowl competition to give participants an idea of what happens during a bowl. Please bring your lunch, you can eat during the "planning" and finish in time for the "work". We will also announce the team members at that time and hand out any forms you will need. Thank you to all who are helping and participating - you are the pioneers in this event!
In case you didn't know, this weekend is the SuperBowl. In light of that fact, we are allowing students to wear t-shirts or jerseys on FRIDAY that support your favorite NFL team, even if they're not playing in the SuperBowl.
Please remember to bring in your canned goods and money for Souper Bowl of Caring. For your convenience we have placed large bins for the canned goods outside of the CCA reception offices as well as near the stoplight on the first floor. We will be collecting these items up until FRIDAY, February 4th. All funds raised and canned goods collected will go towards fighting hunger and poverty America.

Athletics News:
The eagles were defeated by Westminster Academy 52-47 in Chris Walkerow's last home game. The eagles were led in scoring by Walkerow and Shawn lashbrook. Shawn Lashbrook led both teams in prayer following the game.

February 2, 1831 - Twenty-three-year-old Baptist seminary student Samuel Francis Smith penned the words to the American patriotic hymn "My Country, Tis of Thee."
On this day in 1887 - Groundhog Day is celebrated for the first time in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. According to tradition, if a groundhog comes out of its hole on this day and sees its shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter weather; no shadow means an early spring.
