Attention All Seniors: There is a mandatory meeting for all seniors to discuss Graduation on Thursday, March 11th during block 1 in Room 32002.  Please come prepared to share your Graduation bible verse for announcements as well as get fitted for caps and gowns.

Please join me in congratulating the High School Chorus for their wonderful performance this past Friday at the ACSI Music Festival.  They sang a very challenging acapella piece in Latin and our very own Mr. Mullen accompanied us on the traditional Shaker tune called "Simple Gifts"!  Our students received an Excellent rating for their performance. Also, Kristina Florio and Johnny Jones received Superior ratings for their solos.  Should you see them in the hall or in class, please congratulate them for their hard work!

Our combined High School/Middle School band earned superior ratings at last week's ACSI Band Festival. The band played a very challenging program and impressed the judges with their talent and overall sound. Most importantly, their witness at the hotel and Busch Gardens wowed the managers at those establishments, setting a higher standard of excellence for all youth groups who regularly visit there. Please congratulate these fine musician/disciples!

On This Day in History

On this day in 1959, the first Barbie doll goes on display at the American Toy Fair in New York City. Eleven inches tall, with a waterfall of blond hair, Barbie was the first mass-produced toy doll in the United States with adult features. The woman behind Barbie was Ruth Handler, who co-founded Mattel, Inc. with her husband in 1945. After seeing her young daughter ignore her baby dolls to play make-believe with paper dolls of adult women, Handler realized there was an important niche in the market for a toy that allowed little girls to imagine the future.

The Word of God for the Day

Psalm 62:5-6    Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

The Official CCA Bad Joke of the Day

The business woman ordered a fancy floral arrangement for the grand opening of her new store, and she was furious when it arrived adorned with a ribbon that read: MAY YOU REST IN PEACE.

Apologizing profusely, the florist got her to calm down with the reminder that in some funeral home stood an arrangement bearing the words: GOOD LUCK IN YOUR NEW LOCATION.
